Druthers Brewing, with brewpubs in Albany and Saratoga Springs, won the top award during this past weekend’s third annual Bacon and Beer Classic at Citi Field in Queens.
The winning dish — bacon banh mi with carrot-cucumber slaw, deep-fried bun and Druthers aioli (right) — will be available at both Druthers locations as a daily feature by this weekend. The price will be $12 for three small buns. George de Piro, Druthers’ brewmaster, recommends the brewery’s gose as a pairing, its sourness serving to cut through the fatty bacon.
