May Events

Derby Day Parties (May 7)

There is no shortage of events for those looking to celebrate the "Run for the Roses" on May 7!

  • Head to Prime at Saratoga National from 4pm-9pm, $50/person, includes one drink ticket and music by Soul Session.
  • Join the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame at their Kentucky-themed fundraiser featuring delicious samplings of local brews and spirits, as well as signature Kentucky-inspired dishes from local restaurants. Dress to impress, 3:30pm-7pm, $55 for a general ticket. 
  • 15 Church welcomes you to their "Talk Derby" event, with doors opening at 4pm. Call 518-587-1515 to reserve your table. 
  • Grab your bow tie and bonnet and head to the Gideon Putnam to join them at their event beginning at 12:30pm, featuring a BBQ buffet, free mint juleps and live music. Cost is $75/person.
  • "It's the Derby, Darling!" at Taverna Novo, who will be opening their doors early to celebrate and will feature the racing action all day in addition to a special themed menu and special giveaways. Call for reservations.
  • The Saratoga Casino has plenty of ways for you to watch and wager on the Kentucky Derby. Enjoy drink specials from 4-8pm. Free admission.
  • Kick off the racing season at Putnam Place with the Derby on their big screen and enjoy live music, drink specials and Mint Juleps. Doors open at 6pm. Tickets $10 in advance/$12 at the door.

2nd Annual Bloody Mary Fest (May 14)

Hosted by Harvey's Restaurant and Bar, last year's popular Bloody Mary Fest boasts TWENTY ONE participating locations this year! Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Jessica B. Dorronsoro Memorial fund. Sample a few and declare your favorite! Event runs from 11am-4pm. Here is a list of participating restaurants:

Bailey's Clam Bake (May 14)

The clam bake at Bailey's Cafe is back! Steamers, shrimp, raw bar favorites, clams and oysters! Plus sides of corn and potatoes. Come out for a spring fling. 12pm-5pm.

Spring Auto Show (May 14)

Join the Saratoga Automobile Museum at the Saratoga Spa State Park for their Annual Spring Auto Show. All cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome. Enjoy amazing automobiles, great food, music and an exciting day out for the entire family! 9am-2pm.

Saratoga Comic Con (May 14-15)

Saratoga Comic Con takes place May 14-15 and is the largest comic con and pop-culture event in the Capital Region. The event features not only comic book dealers, but artists, vendors of all kinds and guest stars. Hours from 10am-6pm on 5/14, and from 10am-5pm on 5/15. VIPs get early access at 9:30am both days.

Saratoga Springs Historic Homes Tour (May 14)

Join the Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation to celebrate our community’s rich architectural heritage as well as the Foundation’s 45th Anniversary. This year’s tour promises to give you the exclusive opportunity to see interiors of beautiful private homes and buildings on the east side of Saratoga Springs. Advance discounted Historic Homes Tour tickets are available now for $35 for SSPF members and $45 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased the day of the event for $45 members and $55 non-members from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the National Museum of Racing & Hall of Fame.

Wesley Foundation Gala (May 14)

Join the Wesley Foundation for a fun evening of dinner, dancing, music by Jukebox Rebellion, silent auctions and more! All proceeds from the evening will support the Campaign for Springs at Wesley Health Care Center. Click here for tickets.  

Sing in the Streets (May 22)

Enjoy this free neighborhood festival to celebrate 62 years of Caffe Lena! An afternoon of live music at six stages located around the Caffe Lena neighborhood.

Hattie's Crawfish Festival (May 30)

The unofficial start to summer! Hattie's Crawfish Festival is back. Enjoy fresh crawfish by the pound, fried chicken-gumbo, peel & eat shrimp, raw bar and live entertainment by Soul Session featuring "Soulist" Garland Nelson. All profits are donated to charity!

June Events

Big Night Out (June 2)

Saratoga Independent School invites you to celebrate their 30th anniversary with them at their annual Big Night Out fundraiser at Pitney Meadows Farm. This year's event will be a cocktail reception featuring food from Airstream Catering, music from DJ Tru, a photo booth, auction items and more.

 14th Annual Cantina Kids Fun Run (June 5)

The Cantina Kids Fun Run is an athletic event for children up to age 12 held in beautiful Congress Park, in downtown Saratoga Springs, that brings families together to support children's healthcare at Saratoga Hospital. The 1/4 mile course is completely fenced in and entirely within the boundaries of Congress Park.

Mostly Modern Festival (June 9-24)

The Mostly Modern Festival takes place in June and celebrates classical music of our time. The focus is "mostly modern," living composers from around the world, with an occasional foray into the past. All concerts at Arthur Zankel Music Hall. 

Beekman Street Art Fair (June 12)

A juried fine art and craft show, with street performers, live music and food trucks, all in the Beekman Street Arts District. Held rain or shine from 10am-5pm, this event is family-friendly with free admission.

American Cancer Society Red, White and Blue Party (June 24)

The American Cancer Society Red, White and Blue Party returns to the Patio at Saratoga National Golf Club, featuring a gourmet BBQ as well as a variety of your favorite party drinks, silent auction items, live entertainment from the NY Players and fireworks. 

Freihofer's Saratoga Jazz Festival (June 25-26)

Celebrate the summer with the 43rd Annual Freihofer's Saratoga Jazz Fest which returns to SPAC the weekend of June 25-26, featuring 20 world-class jazz artists performing on two stages. 

Saratoga Brewfest (June 25)

The Saratoga Brewfest will take place at the Saratoga County Fairgrounds, Stay tuned for more details. 

Saratoga Automobile Museum 20th Anniversary Gala (June 25)

Join the Saratoga Automobile Museum for a fabulous night of beverages, hors d'oeuvres and music while exploring their featured summer exhibition, RADwood, Cars of the 80s and 90s. The Gala supports the Museum's mission to preserve, interpret and exhibit automobiles and automotive memorabilia. Click here to register.
