SARATOGA SPRINGS - Many stories have been written through the years about Jim Abbott’s journey from a high school pitcher born without a right hand to his career as a Major League Baseball player.

It turns out the lefty isn’t a bad storyteller himself.

Abbott shared his experiences in a 50-minute talk for the Credit Union Associations of New York Convention held Friday at the Saratoga Hilton at City Center.

The 46-year-old drew on lessons learned in his formative years growing up in Flint, Mich., his time at the University of Michigan and a gold medal win at the 1988 Olympics.
