The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College is an architecturally striking museum that engages viewers with new ways of approaching contemporary art by showing connections between art and the world around us. Recent exhibitions and programs have spanned such fields as biotechnology, the performing arts, anthropology, and the natural sciences.
The Museum is open to the public noon – 5 p.m., Tuesday – Sunday, with extended hours through 7 p.m. on Fridays during the summer and through 9 pm on Thursday during the Skidmore College academic year. The museum is closed on Mondays and major holidays.
Events at the museum include public receptions, an outdoor concert series during the summer, Frances Day: a community open house, scheduled tours, artist talks, performances and more. Groups can also arrange private tours of the museum.
