What does a Visitor Center volunteer do?

Have fun!

Greet…and meet fun and interesting people from around the world!

Share…your knowledge and enthusiasm of the area.

Learn…about new people and places.

Provide friendly, helpful information and answer questions

What if I’m not familiar with the area?

Volunteers are provided with plenty of support and training. Staff is always on site to help! There is no expectation to know everything… just come with a willingness to learn and share knowledge. You’ll be amazed at how much you already know!

What is the time commitment?

We offer four hour shifts, typically 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Most volunteers sign up for one, four hour shift per week, but others like to do more than one shift. You let us know what works for you!

Who are your volunteers and where are they from?

We love the diverse backgrounds of our volunteers! Many are retired professionals; former teachers, librarians, lawyers, education administrators, salespeople, etc. Some of our volunteers are native Saratogians; some are from out of the area and have relocated to Saratoga. Our volunteers come to us from various locations locally – Saratoga Springs, Wilton, Clifton Park, Malta, etc. Whatever their background, wherever they come from, they all share a common interest: a love of the Saratoga area; a desire to  learn new things and share their knowledge with others; to meet new people and have fun!

“I enjoy volunteering at the Visitor Center because I get to meet people from all over the world who have heard of Saratoga Springs.  The best part is being able to describe to them the best parts of our fair city, the Health, History and Horses stories.”

Alexandra M.

“I love to meet and greet Saratoga Visitors! Helping them to plan their time and see all Saratoga has to offer is very rewarding!

The best place to do this is at the Visitor Center!”

Marti LaDue

“Volunteering at the Visitor Center is one of my favorite things to do.  The visitors are always friendly and have great interest in the Spa City.  Each day brings someone new from around the country and sometimes the world.  It’s such a great experience.”

Donna Steggs

“If you love Saratoga Springs, you’ll love working at the Visitors Center. You get to share with visitors all the assets of our city - the wealth of activities available, the special architecture to see, and the beauty of the surrounding countryside.”
