Live guided tours of Congress Park take place Tuesday through Saturday starting at 10:30 a.m. During these 90-minute walking tours, guests will learn about the founding of the city and park. Guests will also learn about the Native Americans who lived in the area and important contributions from Saratoga’s historical figures, like Gideon Putnam, Dr. John Clark, John Morrissey, and Lucy Skidmore. Tours are appropriate for the entire family and will begin outside the Heritage Area Visitor Center.
The Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation is offering historic walking tours beginning June 13, 2021. Join the Foundation for thirteen exciting walking tours of historic Saratoga Springs, which will be offered each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. through September 5th. Tickets are $15 for SSPF members and $20 for non-members. Tickets must be purchased in advance and space is limited.
The Foundation is also offering bike tours of the Saratoga Spa State Park on Sunday, September 26th and Saturday, October 9th. Bike through the beautiful outdoors along the old roads, carriage paths, and trolley lines to explore the progressive story of Saratoga Spa State Park. The tour starts at the early bathhouses on South Broadway, known as Lincoln Park, then travels over to the little-known springs on Route 50, and down to the scenic Geyser Park area. Bike tours last approximately three hours and space is limited. Tickets are $20 for SSPF members and $25 for non-members. Click here to purchase tickets in advance.
