Saratoga Springs, NY – March 4, 2025 – The Saratoga Springs Heritage Area Visitor Center, in partnership with the Saratoga Springs Public Library, is excited to announce the launch of their spring 2025 Brown Bag Lunch Lecture Series. This community lecture series is designed to highlight the rich history, culture, and traditions of our city.

All Brown Bag Lunch Lecture Series programs are free and open to the public. Each program takes place from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Dutcher Community Room, Saratoga Springs Public Library, 49 Henry Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. Thursday, March 13, 2025: “Moving Forward Together! Women Educating and Inspiring Generations”

In celebration of Women’s History Month join us for an inspiring panel discussion featuring three distinguished women leaders who have made significant contributions to education, mentorship, and leadership.  These women have dedicated their lives to uplifting others and will share their insights and experiences.  Their commitment has not only created lasting impacts on their communities but has also served as a beacon of inspiration for generations past and present. 

Thursday, April 10, 2025: “Saratoga:  From Primitive Forest to National Resort Destination”

Join us as Charlie Kuenzel presents a comprehensive timeline of Saratoga's city development from the 1700s to the present. It will highlight the various phases in which Saratoga has had to "reinvent" itself throughout its history.

 

Thursday, May 8, 2025: “The Legacy of Saratoga’s Mom and Pop Grocery Stores”

Join us as Carol Godette presents the legacy of Saratoga's Mom and Pop stores. Relive memories of our iconic neighborhood shops from the past, each with its own unique story. These microcosms provide a glimpse into their times and help us understand Saratoga's rich history.

 

Thursday, June 12, 2025: “Tales of the Travers”

Join us while Authors Brien Bouyea and Michael Veitch present several tales of the Travers Stakes, the oldest stakes race for 3-year-olds in America.
“Our Spring 2025 season offers inspiration, a glimpse into Saratoga’s historic past, and concludes with captivating horse racing stories leading into the summer meet,” said Heritage Area Visitor Center Director, Karen Verrigni. “We are grateful for our speakers, our partners at the library, and the attendees who continue to support this popular lecture series. Through collaboration, we are proud to offer free, high-quality programming that enriches our community.”
