Celebrating National Travel and Tourism Week: May 4–10, 2025

National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW) returns May 4–10, 2025, to spotlight the essential role travel plays in powering our economy, building strong communities, and enhancing quality of life across the country. This year’s theme, "Travel Powers Progress," underscores the industry’s ongoing contribution to economic growth, job creation, and innovation in every corner of the U.S.

According to the U.S. Travel Association, the travel industry generated $2.9 trillion in economic output in 2024, supported more than 15 million American jobs, and contributed $190 billion in tax revenue—equivalent to $1,490 in tax savings per household.

Here in Saratoga County, travel is one of our most powerful economic engines—supporting small businesses, driving year-round events, and strengthening community pride. From the iconic Saratoga Race Course to the nationally acclaimed Saratoga Performing Arts Center, our destination continues to attract visitors from near and far. We’re also proud to be home to other major attractions like Saratoga National Historical Park, Saratoga Casino Hotel, and Saratoga Spa State Park—each playing a vital role in our region’s tourism success and cultural identity.

  • Tourism is the 3rd largest industry in New York State.

  • Visitors spent $2.7 billion in the Capital-Saratoga region in 2023 across a diverse range of sectors.

  • Saratoga County represents 33% of the region's tourism sales with $876 million in direct tourism (up 8.6% over 2023).

  • Tourism supports 10,786 jobs with $387 million in labor income.

  • Without tourism, residents would have to pay $961 more in taxes each year.

At Discover Saratoga, we’re celebrating National Travel and Tourism Week by honoring and recognizing the hospitality professionals and tourism partners who make Saratoga County such a vibrant and welcoming destination. Their dedication, passion, and hard work are at the heart of what makes our community thrive.

As we look to the future, we’re proud to stand with our peers nationwide in building a more dynamic, sustainable, and inclusive travel industry—one that not only recovers but reimagines what’s possible.
