The Belmont Stakes Racing Festival is 30 days away! The Saratoga Race Course will host the Triple Crown Race on June 8th, 2024. The excitement is contagious! Businesses and organizations throughout Saratoga County have been preparing for the racing festival and are eager to have racing fans from all over the world experience what Saratoga has to offer.
Belmont on Broadway
From June 4th through June 9th, a multi-faceted celebration will commence in honor of the 156th Belmont Stakes Racing Festival in Saratoga. Activities begin on Tuesday June 4th with "Embrace the Belmont," intended to bring the Saratoga Springs year-round community together to learn about basic handicapping and to get to know the 2024 Belmont Stakes field. The event will be held at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame, organized by Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga. A downtown window decorating contest will also be in the works, organized by the Downtown Business Association.
Wednesday June 5th, the day before the first official race day, a FREE concert will be held on Broadway in Downtown Saratoga Springs from 6pm to 10pm. Van Dam Street to Lake Avenue where Saratoga Springs City Hall is, will most likely be closed all day Wednesday starting early in the morning to install the stage. We are stoked to announce Blues Traveler will be headlining this concert with opening acts still to be announced! Pre and post show parties are also in the works so stay tuned!
The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame is hosting the Belmont Gala on Thursday June 6th which is already SOLD OUT! Not to worry, it's the first day of the racing festival! Go enjoy the races and check out Saratoga County. PLUS on Friday June 7th, American country rock music singer songwriter, HARDY will be performing at Saratoga Performing Arts Center and tickets are still available! Get them here.
Saturday June 8th is the big day! The 156th Belmont Stakes Race will take place at Saratoga Race Course. Tickets are SOLD OUT for the June 8th race day but tickets for June 6th, 7th and 9th are still available. You can get them here. The celebration ends on Sunday June 9th with races all day and the Opera Saratoga Gala at the Canfield Casino at 6pm.
Belmont Jewel Contest
From May 6 through May 19, stop by participating restaurants and try their version of "The Belmont Jewel." Classically made with Bourbon, Pomegranate Juice, and Lemonade, we've asked restaurants and cafes to make their own Saratoga version of a Belmont Jewel. Try them all and vote for your favorite in three categories: Most Creative, Most Recommendable, and Best Belmont Jewel. Check in at 5 locations through the Discover Saratoga mobile app and earn a free limited edition Belmont Stakes Koozie! You can pick up you Koozie at the Saratoga Heritage Visitor Center, Tuesday through Saturday, 9am-5pm. Koozies are limited to one per customer.
