National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW) returns May 3–9, 2026, recognizing the essential role travel plays in strengthening our economy, supporting local businesses, and enhancing quality of life across the country.
Led by the U.S. Travel Association, this annual initiative highlights how travel drives economic growth, workforce development, and vibrant communities nationwide. This year’s theme, “Postmarked: Essential,” underscores a simple truth: travel is not optional—it is fundamental to America’s economy, workforce, and way of life.
The Power of Travel in Saratoga County
Tourism is one of Saratoga County’s most important economic drivers—fueling year-round visitation, supporting small businesses, and contributing to a strong, connected community.
Visitors are drawn to iconic attractions like the Saratoga Race Course and the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC), along with destinations such as Saratoga National Historical Park, Saratoga Casino Hotel, and Saratoga Spa State Park.
Together, these experiences define Saratoga County as a premier, year-round destination in Upstate New York.
Tourism by the Numbers
- Tourism is the third-largest industry in New York State
- Visitors spent $2.8 billion in the Capital-Saratoga region
- Saratoga County accounts for 32% of regional tourism sales, totaling over $900 million in direct tourism spending
- Tourism supports 35,879 jobs and $2.8 billion in labor income
- Without tourism, residents would pay approximately $961 more in taxes annually
