The Saratoga Automobile Museum’s biggest fundraiser of the year is about to hit full throttle. The Saratoga Motorcar Auction returns for its 9th year, September 18–21, on the grounds of the Saratoga Casino Hotel. Whether you’re a collector, a car enthusiast, or simply looking for a fun community event, this weekend-long celebration is one you won’t want to miss.
To gear up for the action, tune into the latest episode of the Destination Saratoga: All Access podcast. I sit down with Auction Director Bil Windham and Executive Director Megan A. Hennessey to talk about what makes this year’s event so exciting—from world-class consignments to the museum’s mission. The episode is streaming now on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify.
Cars That Turn Heads
This year’s auction lineup is stacked with more than 250 rare and remarkable motorcars, plus over 120 pieces of automobilia and collectibles. Expect showstoppers like a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, Ferrari 458 Speciale, and a concours-restored 1964 Pontiac GTO. Beyond the horsepower, bidders can take home neon signs, vintage gas pumps, and one-of-a-kind memorabilia that celebrate automotive heritage.
More Than an Auction
The event officially kicks off Thursday, September 18, with a public preview from noon to 5 p.m., followed by the Fast Lane VIP Concert featuring Soul Session from 6–9 p.m. Auction bidding begins Friday at 2 p.m. and resumes Saturday at 10 a.m. The excitement wraps up Sunday at 10 a.m. with the post-auction sale.
Even if you’re not placing a bid, there’s plenty to enjoy. Walk among hundreds of incredible cars, browse automobilia displays, and grab a bite from local food vendors. Families are welcome—this is as much a community celebration as it is a premier collector event.
How to Get In on the Action
Bidding is open now, and there are three ways to take part: in person under the auction tent, by phone with real-time support from the Museum team, or online with pre-bidding available on Proxibid.
“With over 350 consignments this year, bidders have more ways than ever to participate,” said Hennessey. “Whether you’re here in Saratoga, on the phone, or joining online from your living room, the excitement is the same.”
Driving a Mission Forward
At its core, the Saratoga Motorcar Auction is more than a car lover’s dream—it’s the Museum’s most important fundraising event. Proceeds fuel exhibitions, educational programs, and initiatives that celebrate the history, innovation, and cultural impact of the automobile.
